Measure E:
Measure E is a bond that will help IUSD collect money. It mainly affects the residents and students of Irvine. Their goal is to upgrade schools and increase student education efficiency.
VIAN will be volunteering as a group and assist with phone banking. VIAN will remain nonpartisan and will pull out if the volunteering event starts pushing for one side. Individuals are allowed to express their own opinions on the event, but VIAN as a whole will not take part and the volunteering must be done as an individual.
Offical Webpage for Measure E can be found here.
Publication
The publication has progressed.
Articles have been submitted, but more is welcome from the rest of the members.
The publication will be written using newspaper guidelines and remain nonpartisan.
Benefit ConcertDue to school and schedule conflicts, the benefit concert has been postponed until further notice.
Future Events
Future events will be posted in the calendar ahead of time.
There is possibly one last Walk the Precinct that will take place in a couple of weeks in Northern Irvine.
Board Member Attendance
Board members are allowed to miss 3 consecutive board meetings.
If you are not going to be present at the meeting, you must email ahead of time with a legitimate reason, which, if the reason makes sense, will excuse you.
If you are not present at the meeting, the meeting minutes must be viewed. Then you must offer opinions about the meeting.
For far away members, VIAN is considering using webcams to communicate.
If you have to leave early, you must stay for a minimum of 30 minutes.
If members miss 3 or more consecutive meetings, there will be chances to redeem themselves and to become a board member again.
Board members that are located in a different county are allowed an exception, but attendance is still important.
Next meeting is scheduled on 4/17/2016 (Sunday) at 2:00pm.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
